Business card magnets

A business card magnet does what a paper card cannot: it stays. Handed over at a job, dropped in a letterbox or sent out with an invoice, it ends up on the fridge or the filing cabinet and keeps your number in front of the customer for years rather than until the next wallet clean-out.

We print eleven shapes and sizes in this range, from as low as 8c each. The standard is 90 × 54 mm — the same footprint as a paper business card — in rounded or square corners. Below it sit 70 × 50 mm and a 50 × 50 mm square for higher volumes at lower cost; above it a 90 × 90 mm square and a 120 × 60 mm extra-large where the design needs more room. Die-cut shapes run on the same press: a house for real estate, a van for trades and removalists, and custom outlines to your own artwork.

What to put on it

  • Your phone number, larger than your logo. The number is what the magnet is for, and most designs get this the wrong way round.
  • What you actually do, in plain words. A logo alone doesn't tell a household why they'd call you.
  • Licence or ABN where relevant, which distinguishes a professional from an amateur.
  • Keep the rest sparse. A business card magnet has very little room and cramming it makes the number harder to find.

Why business card magnets work

A paper business card is filed or binned within a day. A magnetic one goes on the fridge, where it is seen daily by everyone in the household rather than by the one person who took it.

For trades and service businesses this is the cheapest form of retention that exists. The cost per year of visibility is a fraction of any other print item, and it requires no follow-up.

What size are your business card magnets?
The standard is 90 x 54 mm, the same footprint as a paper business card, in rounded or square corners. We also print 70 x 50 mm and 50 x 50 mm for higher volumes, 90 x 90 mm square and 120 x 60 mm extra-large where you need more design space, and die-cut house (90 x 55 mm) and van (84 x 57 mm) shapes. Custom outlines are made to order.
How much do business card magnets cost?

What is the difference between square corners, rounded corners and shaped?
Square-corner cards are the most economical and the most ordered. Rounded corners cost a little more and give a cleaner finish that recipients tend to keep. Die-cut shapes - house, van, or your own outline - cost more again and are the most likely to stay on the fridge, because they read as an object rather than a card.
Do I have to supply artwork?
No. Free design is included with every order. Send your logo and details and our designers build it, with unlimited changes until you are happy. If you already have a print-ready PDF we will use it: 3 mm bleed on all edges, important content 3 mm inside the trim line, images around 300 dpi.
How long does an order take?
Unwrapped magnets dispatch 7-10 business days from artwork approval. Individually wrapped products take longer, because wrapping is a separate finishing process. Delivery is free Australia-wide by express courier: 1-2 days to Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Brisbane, a few days more elsewhere in Australia.
